Dropping Off The Edge Of The Earth

I had no intention of  disappearing when I started teasing you all with images of TheBrains last June.  Though I was very busy for a few days, putting together a party for the 4th, I expected to be right back here with More News on July 5. Instead I developed vertigo and spent the next few days having quality time with my doctor who, fortunately taught me something called the Epley maneuver that reset the crystals in my ear. The vertigo left in about 24 hours, just in time for a deluge of civic activity to compete for time with creativity. It was 3 weeks till TheBrains could get back to you and by then - things had both changed and developed.

Time for me to share with you what's coming up with TheBrains and Me (TheBoss).

First off - Brain Bogging will continue after Spark. I've had blogspot blogs for 20 years so it was easy to give TheBrains a platform there. Until August 17 I'll be putting duplicate posts here and on the Spark blog

Second off - and what has really been keeping me so busy - is that TheBrains and I are writing a book.

I so thoroughly enjoy TheBrains - and the slightly goofy, if also trenchant, way they help me work out problems that I've wanted to share this process with all my friends - certainly with those who are already fans of them. The idea of creating a journal or workbook to teach others how to tap into the creativity and organizational capabilities of those two hemispheres came to me ages ago, but it took me a very long time to come up with images of them.  As I began to draw them they grew way too complicated and, of course, I didn't know how to shrink them down to an emogi size that I could use in the familiar script-like style of the old Spark blogs. I discussed this with a graphic artist/book designer, thinking she would just say "oh just use this software" and I could continue merily on my own.

Uh Uh. Not only did the book designer have some very real advice and concerns about the art part of the book but she asked enough hard questions about the actual text that I have been furiously rewriting that.

The format will be a spiral bound journal with both blank pages and text: A little background, a little explanation, a great bibliography, some examples of what your first conversations with YOUR Right and Left Brains will probably look like and some old familiar conversations with TheBrains that can guide you on your way to dealing with those irksome issues that get in the way of you having all the fun you could be having.

I plan to have this ready by the end of August - although - we all know what plans are - a guarantee to embarass you when you don't hit your target date. Still and all - I will have the journal ready ASAP.  I will keep you posted on when it will be availabe and where you can find it and what it will cost both here and on the Spark blog. (and of course on my website BessHaileArt and other places too)

  4. The book sounds like it’ll be a real corpus. Corpus callosum, that is... 😁

  5. LOL!!! Thanks for the chuckle. More of an opus than a corpus, though. (giggle)

  6. Oh that is such god news to hear. TheBrains have taught me how to better deal with my Wild Child, Dictator and The Boss. We are now peacefully coexisting with the occasional blip to work things out as you say. I’d love one of your books. I’ll patiently wait for it as I understand your 80/20 life. Hope you feel better.
